On your first day, you'll be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech and taken on a scenic 1.5-hour drive to Imlil valley, the starting point of your 5-day Toubkal Trek. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by our team of experienced local mountaineers who will guide you throughout your journey. You'll check in to a comfortable guesthouse for the night and spend some time getting to know the area on a short 2-hour hike through beautiful Berber villages. Stop for a delicious outdoor lunch before returning to your lodge in the late afternoon to rest and recharge for the days ahead.
Experience the beauty of Morocco's Atlas Mountains on a challenging yet rewarding 5-day Toubkal Trek. On the second day, you'll set off on a trek towards the basecamp, passing through the charming Berber village of Chamharouch and enjoying a delicious lunch on the way. You'll then make your way uphill to the refuge, where you'll spend the night surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.
Climb to the summit of Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains, on the third day of your 5-day trek. After an early breakfast at the refuge, you'll start the climb and be rewarded with breathtaking views at the top. After a short break, you'll head back to the base-camp for lunch and to spend the night. This challenging but rewarding trek will take approximately 3 hours up and 3 hours down.
On the fourth day, start your day off right with a hearty breakfast to fuel your body for the exciting challenge ahead. You'll be climbing the formidable Ras n'Ouankrim, a 4068 meter peak that offers a thrilling and technical ascent. Along the way, you'll use your hands to navigate a few tricky sections. But the breathtaking views from the summit will be well worth the effort. After taking a moment to rest and capture memories at the top, you'll begin the descent back to the base camp, where you'll rest for the night. On the final day of your adventure, you'll wake up to a nourishing breakfast before setting off on the descent back to the Imlil valley. The journey will take approximately 4 to 5 hours of walking, during which you'll follow the same route back. Once you reach the valley, you'll enjoy a satisfying lunch before being transferred back to Marrakech. The drive will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, bringing an end to your amazing journey through the Atlas Mountains. It is feasible to climb Mount Toubkal in a one day. Even though it would require a very early morning start, the journey is often completed in two days.
Is it difficult to climb Toubkal?
Due to the high altitude, a trek up Toubkal is a challenge. From May through October, the hike to the top is not too difficult, especially if you come at it from the south. Climbing throughout the months of November through April is much more difficult.
