Tour Plan

The first day will be spent traveling from Marrakech to Zagora Desert. Your shared 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora departs at approximately 7:30 a.m., joining a group tour to Zagora via the Tizi Ntichka pass (2260 m. above sea level), passing by various adobe Berber villages and locals herding goats. Stop in the center of the High Atlas Mountains to take photographs, stretch your legs, or enjoy a cup of coffee. Upon arrival at Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou, you will get some opportunity to explore the UNESCO world heritage village and its renowned Kasbah, which has been used as a backdrop for commercial and modeling photo sessions as well as for biblical epics. If you wish to join the group on a guided tour, your local guide will cost you an additional €3.00 per person. Following the visit to the Kasbah, there will be an hour-long lunch break. We will continue driving past Ouarzazate and will cross the northeastern Anti Atlas Mountains to reach the oasis of Agdz. After a brief stop in the village center, prepare to be awestruck as you drive through the Draa Valley with its fortified Kasbahs and oasis dotted with hundreds of thousands of date palm trees. The Draa Valley is home to Morocco's largest palm tree plantation. When we arrive in the Zagora desert late in the afternoon, we will meet our camel caravans, and our camel trekking adventure will begin through the Zagora desert as we witness an incredible sunset for about an hour. Please be advised that there are few sand dunes in Zagora. We drive our camels to our Zagora desert camp in the middle of nowhere just before nightfall. Tonight, a delicious Moroccan meal will be served at your Bedouin camp. Prepare yourself for a fantastic drum performance and local music around the campfire immediately following dinner. Your desert nomad hosts will play drums and sing local folk songs until approximately midnight. Feel free to learn about the star constellations or simply appreciate the tranquility of the desert under the pristine night sky.
Your camp hosts will wake you early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise. After breakfast, ride your camels to the main road to meet your vehicle and driver. Departing from here, we go to Ouarzazate, where we will stop for lunch at a local café and visit Taourirt Kasbah (optional; entrance costs apply depending on timing). We return to Marrakech early in the afternoon after traversing the High Atlas Mountains. Your combined, 2 days desert tour from Marrakech to Zagora  will conclude in the late evening about 20H00.
