Tour Plan

At the beginning of our 5 days tour from Fes to Marrakech, your driver will come and pick you up at your lodging. We will be departing Fes and continuing our adventure via the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will make a photo stop at Ifrane, not too far from Azrou, to shoot some shots in the cedar forest there. We are going to observe a number of monkeys that have barbarian traits. After that, we will continue with the last portion of our journey and make our way to Midelt for lunch. After lunch, we are going to drive via the Tizi N'talghuma pass on our way to the Sahara desert. Near Errachidia is where you'll find the picturesque Ziz Valley, as well as several charming Berber towns, both of which we'll go through on our way here. After that, we will make our way to Merzouga through Aoufous and Erfoud on the way there. When we reach Erg-Chebbi, which is a paradise of sand dunes, we are going to have supper, and then we are going to spend the night in a small hotel, or Riad.
After breakfast, we will continue with our journey to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Merzouga Lake, which does not always contain water, could be visited so that tourists can see the ducks and flamingos who make this lake their home in the spring. Next, we will visit the village of Khmliya, where Gnawa music will be performed by local musicians. After that, we will continue with our off-road drive across the desert until we reach the shadowy region of the desert that is located behind the Erg-Chebbi sand dunes. Following that, we will experience the nomadic Berber way of life by paying a visit to a family. In the hopes of finding mineral fossils there, we will make our way to a once-thriving community that has since been abandoned... We will return to Khmliya for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will reach the desert camp via a camel trek across the magnificent orange sand dunes. From the middle of the sand dunes, it is possible to observe a spectacular sunset and rejuvenate your spirit. You can have dinner and spend the night in the camp, where music will be played and you can play on the sand dunes beneath an unlimited number of stars.
In order to view the gorgeous dawn the next morning, it is necessary to awaken early. After breakfast and a shower, return by camel or car to Merzouga and continue on to Rissani. The renowned, historic, and biggest market in the area will be visited on foot, with an emphasis on locally produced items and art. Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday is the optimal time to visit Rissani, when the market is open. Later, we will go to Tinghir through the Tafilalt Oasis, where we may see the oasis's ancient irrigation system. Following our arrival in Tinjdad, where we will have lunch on our own, we will go to Tinghir to see the Todra valley and explore the orange cliffs of the Todra Gorge. The day will end in the lush valley of Boumalne Dades. Dine followed by an overnight stay at a hotel or riad.
After breakfast at the hotel, we continue our drive along the Road of One Thousand Kasbahs, along which there are gigantic kasbahs. Some of these historic fortified buildings have been rebuilt, but sadly, the majority of them remain in ruins. We traverse the Dades valley and ascend to the hilly region by an off-road path, where several Berber settlements and a few nomads live in caves. Here, we will get the opportunity to visit one of these families and see their daily lives and primary occupation, which is caring for flocks of goats and sheep. Before we reach the Skoura palm grove, the scenery of the vibrant Rose Valley will captivate us. 45 kilometers later, we arrive in Ouarzazate for supper and a hotel stay.
Following breakfast, we will go to Taourirt Kasbah, and then continue on to Ait Benhaddou, where we will explore the World Heritage Site there. The next stop will be the historic Berber settlement of Telouet, located in the High Atlas Mountains, as well as the Kasbah el Glaoui. In Telouet, we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing on to Marrakech over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. This will be the last day of our five-day desert journey that began in Fes and ended in Marrakech via Merzouga Desert.
